A funny conversation took place on Twitter this week between MMmusing, Brian Robison, Bobopera and Nightafternight: citing mostly the movie “The Competition” (1980) they discussed mainly which artist/actor is doing the better job in faking piano play. Some statements:

MMmusing: “Irving fakes better than Dreyfuss. Both are betrayed mostly by shoulders. Dreyfuss often looks like he’s on a rowing machine.”

Nightafternight: “..and when Dreyfus snaps at conductor re: Prokofiev 3, “the one with castanets—you just played it with Ashkenazy!”
